At a general level, our plan emphasizes helping individual Canadians do their part for the environment. Our plan will help Canadians who want to protect our environment but do not have the resources to do it under Justin Trudeau and give them the tools they need. We will also be supporting Carbon Capture technology that will allow Canadian energy to be produced with fewer emissions. Canada will be able to export our technology to the world, not only helping to decrease emissions worldwide but also to support Canadian industry. Big emitters which have almost no environmental protections like China have an unfair advantage in the Canadian market, which is why we will be implementing a tariff to even the playing field for Canadian companies. Canada has one of the largest Uranium deposits on earth and we can use that along with our small nuclear reactor technology to help other countries dramatically reduce their emissions.
We will also be working to ensure that the electricity grid is strong enough to support Albertans who want to drive electric vehicles. We will do this by producing more natural gas which will allow us to rely less on coal which produces twice as much CO2 as natural gas. We will also invest in hydrogen power and small nuclear reactors.
We will also ban the export of plastic waste, committing to deal with our own garbage instead of shipping it to foreign landfills. We will also end the dumping of raw sewage into our waterways.
Garnett has personally spoken often about the importance of personal responsibility as part of our response to the environment. Caring about the environment should start with what you do, not with what you expect somebody else to do. Canadians are sick of being lectured by high-flying carbon guzzling celebrities who do not practice what they preach. Garnett has also spoken in the House of Commons about the importance of our own local environment, specifically about Elk Island National Park. Our plan will also double the amount of protected land in Canada to ensure the country is healthy for future generations.
