As the grandson of an engineer who worked for Syncrude, I am proud of Canada’s energy sector. People across our country have benefited from Alberta’s energy industry and Albertans have paid more than their fair share of taxes to see that money go towards economic development in other parts of the country.
Unfortunately the contributions that hard working Albertans have made continue to be dismissed and disrespected by our current Prime Minister. We need a government that is not embarrassed by Canada’s energy sector but understands that the production of innovative and sustainable energy is good for the economy, the environment, and for every region in Canada.
That is why Conservatives are committed to scrapping the carbon tax, repealing Bill C-69 (the no more pipelines bill) and repealing Bill C-48, which prevents the exports of Canadian resources offshore. We will build a national energy corridor in order to get our resources to the east coast. It makes no sense to import oil from Saudi Arabia, when we could be putting Canadians to work instead. I will continue to be a voice for the hardworking people of Alberta along with our principled Conservative team.
